Coming soon: Wicked Hope – Synopsis

Hello lovies!

I just completed the first novel in the Wicked Series. Although Wicked Hope may appear misleading, this series is a zombie mutation series, which was created specifically for my darling friend, Sweet Stuff.

I will receive the physical proofs within a week or two. Estimated publication date is September 30, 2015!

Synopsis:

As scientists struggle to create a cure that has threatened mankind’s survival, compounds are built to house their experiments … their atrocities. Unfortunately, power and arrogance eventually taint good intentions, and humans find themselves facing a tragic reality: to the scientists, the ends justify the means; to the victimized cattle within, brutalities and starvation. In the end, the raw, basic needs of man must be sated.

Sally is uncertain whether or not she has the courage to survive, to live another day, or if she can find the unequivocal valor to embrace death itself. Sebastian, a young boy who is held captive in her room, endures the worst of all fathomable, pedophilic perversions, which provides Sally with just the means to find the voice once silenced by fear and suffering. Sally realizes she will do almost anything to protect the boy, even live to wake another day of hell.

REVIEW: Kiss The Dead – An Anita Blake; Vampire Hunter series novel # 21 by Laurell K. Hamilton

Disappointing ..

Kiss the Dead is the 21st book in the Anita Blake – Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton.  This series began with an interesting bang .. a slow one at that but it quickly built into an extremely erotic black hole that sucked all the time out of me.

With that said, Hit List (Book # 20) and Kiss the Dead (Book # 21) have both fallen below the standards and expectations that the series has earned.

Kiss the Dead, although an immense improvement from Hit List .. left me wanting.  The writing style has completely changed .. although Hamilton is writing “better” .. it has changed the tone of the Blake books and this is unacceptable.  😦

50 pages into the book, and I was still crossing my fingers that it would get better.  Thankfully, it did .. but unfortunately .. *sigh* it didn’t pull itself out of the shit list to which I had placed it.  Crude .. brutal .. but that’s me being honest.

I will not bother going into a basic, all around whatnot about the book.  I have a college paper to write 🙂  Below, you will miscellaneous tidbits and quotes!  Enjoy .. for there may be nothing else worthy .. bummer.

“They’d say how you’re bad for shacking up with vampires and wereleopards, but in a firefight they’ll take your vampire-loving, furry-fucking ass over most anyone else’s.”

Anita Blake’s character has taken a turn of complete happiness .. As nice as the thought it .. Seriously?  Anita Blake isn’t happy.  It’s a dream come true sure .. she has accepted her love of the sweeties .. but seriously?  Thankfully .. Asher comes to save the day with drama!

He nodded. “That is fair. I am sorry, truly sorry, but you are right. Apologies that do not lead to better actions are empty things.”

Occasionally Blake rambles to herself .. the struggles with morals and thoughts .. feelings of love or resistance .. I did find the quote below rather hilarious .. It’s from a woman (Blake) .. relationship problems rock!

“Was I his?  Was he mine?  Duck, I didn’t know.  How could I not know after more than a year?  How could I not know the answer to this?  What the fuck was wrong with me?  What the fuck was wrong … with me?  With … him and me, with us?  No, with me.  With me.  What was wrong with me?”

I recommend this book to Anita Blake fans.  And even then .. If you are saving money for this book just for that reason .. save it until it hits the Barnes and Noble $5 bargain shelf.  I do not recommend this book to immature adults or children.  Although the sexual content has leapt from 160 to 35 mph .. the content is still significant.

Line and word of the book:

“Heteroflexible?”

REVIEW: Bullet – An Anita Blake; Vampire Hunter series novel # 19 by Laurell K. Hamilton

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!  CAUTION heh SPOILERS TO FOLLOW DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK YET!

Bullet is an amazing book.  I know that I say that quite often about the books in this series, but hell what can I say?  This one is totally rockin awesome!

Anita is a pretty uptight and complicated character .. to say the least!  This book doesn’t give her any relax wiggle room.

Several things happen in this book and I just can’t help myself but spoil some of the fun!

Richard returns to the scene.  The first time I read this book, I was like ugh fuck, Richard’s back.  But WOW holy moly baby!  In this book, he most definitely does NOT disappoint!

Finally!  A bed filled with Jean-Claude, Anita, Richard and…..ASHER?!  Yes!  After all the pouting and moping around, Asher finally receives Anita’s blessing to become Jean-Claude’s lover.  But before he is able to appreciate the delightful yumminess of our blessedly endowed Master of the City .. Richard steps into his dominant mode and bloodied Asher with a flog?  While covered in Asher’s blood, Richard has sex with Anita.  Anita can’t help herself while Richard is inside of her .. as she watches Jean-Claude kneeling behind Asher as they enjoy their bodies “as of old.”

I know that’s a yea whatever to some but it’s about damned time.

Richard gets shot.  Lung pierced and is dying.  The extremes that Richard’s pack goes through to save his life is unbearably painful.  But he’s saved.  Yes!

Mommie Dearest possesses Belle Morte and Padma.  Eww much?  The shit really hits the fan in this book.

Rotting Master Vampires on killing sprees, ardeurs ripping through the underground of the Circus of the Damned, and all different tiger clans visiting to see if Anita and Jean-Claude really are the new “Master of Tigers.”

The orgies in this book are phenomenal and downright scary.  The homosexual sodomy that finally takes place in this book is a pleasant surprise as well.

What’s the biggest surprise?  Anita gives Richard and Jean-Claude her blessing to take a weretiger to their bed!  As Anita walks towards the bedroom to .. yet again .. have sex with another stranger .. she can’t help but watch Richard and Jean-Claude bring the tiger to climax.  Jealous?  No.  And that is what upsets her the most.

Asher finally finds one of the new men that Anita is bringing into their bed appealing.  The man thinks Asher is the most beautiful man ever.  Bonus!  The sex between Anita, Nathaniel, Micah, Dev and Asher is pretty intense.  It’s a fantastic intimate scene.  Two thumbs up!

I recommend this book to all adult men and women in need of some special twisted yumminess.  Everyone feels empty sometimes.  Why not fill it with dripping goo of hotstuff?  This book contains extreme sexual content and violence.  I strenuously advise you keep this book away from all children and immature adults.  MATURE ADULTS ONLY!

Line of the book:

“When you dance with the devil, it might as well be a devil who can give you your own corner of hell to rule.”
