REVIEW: Cut and Run – A Ty and Zane series novel # 1 by Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban

AMAZING!  I know I wrote a review recently stating that it was “the best I’ve read all year,” but it doesn’t even come close to comparing to Cut and Run.

Originally, I thought this book was going to be more or less a basic cop book with a story about two males becoming intimate with each other.

Wrong.  This book is filled with brilliant and cryptic death.

Special Agent Ty Grady and Special Agent Zane Garrett are awesome.  I wrote a quick post, a discussion about what I thought of these two characters before I read too much of this novel.

My post needs a comment.  Or at the very least, a secondary discussion post needs to be made.

Cut and Run is about two FBI Special Agents that are thrown together in an unwanted and explosive partnership.  Neither Zane nor Ty could stand each other.  Talk about being rubbed the wrong way.

In the beginning of the book, Ty despised everything about Zane.  Ty was a rough, brutally honest and sarcastic man.  He was everything that jus set my toes tingling with anticipation as I read page for page his character’s progression.

Ty to Zane when they first met …

“I don’t wanna know about your childhood or how your momma whipped you with a rubber glove or how much therapy you had to go through ’cause you flunked out of preschool.  I don’t wanna hear about how you want to be Director someday or how many collars you got chasin’ those Internet freaks or how proud you are of your bowel movements.  I don’t wanna go shopping at Barney’s with you, and I’m not gonna help you pick out your ties to match your socks and, I swear to God, if you get me shot, I’ll kill you.”

Tightening his arms, Zane closed them further around Ty as he met the kiss with more strength, dizzy with the surprise and desire blasting through him.  This was beyond crazy.  Beyond negligent.  Just … beyond.  All the hate and anger was morphing into heat and passion and he had no idea what to think about it.

Suddenly, Ty yanked away from the increasingly heated kiss again, stepping back and giving Zane’s chest a good hard smack with the back of his hand.  “Asshole,” he gasped as he tried to get himself under control.

This book is filled with a bottomless pit of highlight worthy moments.  Funny enough, I was so excited about the tale that was unravelling, that I could care less to make the notes for this review.  “Screw it,” I kept saying to myself 🙂

There are currently three books in this series.  Cut and Run is the first book.  To follow, Sticks and Stones and then Fish and Chips.  The fourth novel in this series is called Divide and Conquer.  A blogging friend mentioned when this might be released, but I do not recall the date.  I just searched and was unable to locate the date as well.

I highly recommend this book to any adults that are interested in an extreme psychological serial killer thriller.  This book is very FBI/cop oriented.  I loved the plot, the story and two sexy men and their relationship.

This book contains highly descriptive violent crime scenes (totally cool by the way).  The intense attraction between Ty and Zane is wonderful.  There are amazing intimate and sexual scenes between the two male characters.  Regardless of your sexual orientation, if reading about two men having sex doesn’t put your panties in a bunch, then please read this book.  It’s well worth the time.

A MUST READ!

~Happy reading

Ty Grady and Zane Garrett from Cut and Run – A Gay romance novel

With everything going on in life at the moment, I have been alternating between romance / paranormal romance and the hilarious Janet Evanovich.

I need to laugh.  I need something to lighten the elephant that is camping on my chest.

I began to read Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich.  I love to reread books.  Sometimes I miss things and it’s fun to figure new tidbits about characters.

After going through my kindle books, I remembered that I still had yet to read the “Cut and Run” series.

This is a gay romance series.  Ty and Zane (Males) are FBI agents who are unexpectedly and begrudgingly tossed together as partners to investigate a Tri-State serial killer. Continue reading

Description:

Cut & Run Series Book One

A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case.

Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work after his case blows up in his face. He’s cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does. But when he’s paired with Special Agent Zane Garrett, it’s hate at first sight. Garrett is the perfect image of an agent: serious, sober, and focused, which makes their partnership a classic cliché: total opposites, good cop-bad cop, the odd couple. They both know immediately that their partnership will pose more of an obstacle than the lack of evidence left by the murderer.

Practically before their special assignment starts, the murderer strikes again – this time at them. Now on the run, trying to track down a man who has focused on killing his pursuers, Grady and Garrett will have to figure out how to work together before they become two more notches in the murderer’s knife.
